Fest Camp!

Yes, many of our Fest Youth Group members came along to our Youth Group Camp during the holidays. And I'm sure everyone who came along will agree that it was an absolute blast! We did everything from wrestling in sleeping bags to hunting down lanterns in the dark. Awesome fun.

HIGHLIGHTS:

-Finding Ben's underpants in the fridge.
-Watching Jayson run around in his sleeping bag.
-Getting lost on the car trip there.
-Writing warm fuzzies! Yay! (*Go to http://fuzzypad.blogspot.com for more fuzzy goodness!)
-Eating Pizza.
-Having no electricity.
-Watching candle wax melt all over everything.
-Spending time with friends.
-Crawling around on the ground in the dark.
-Finding Simon in a tree.
-Looking all over the place for a roll of toilet paper!
-And more!

Golfing with an Older Man

A young man who was also an avid golfer found himself with a few hours to spare one afternoon. He figured if he hurried and played very fast, he could get in nine holes before he had to head home. Just as he was about to tee off an old gentleman shuffled onto the tee and asked if he could accompany the young man as he was golfing alone. Not being able to say no, he allowed the old gent to join him.
To his surprise the old man played fairly quickly. He didn't hit the ball far, but plodded along consistently and didn't waste much time. Finally, they reached the 9th fairway and the young man found himself with a tough shot. There was a large pine tree right in front of his ball - and directly between his ball and the green.
After several minutes of debating how to hit the shot the old man finally said, "You know, when I was your age I'd hit the ball right over that tree."
With that challenge placed before him, the youngster swung hard, hit the ball up, right smack into the top of the tree trunk and it thudded back on the ground not a foot from where it had originally lay.
The old man offered one more comment, "Of course, when I was your age that pine tree was only three feet tall."

- Information on upcoming events.

- Links to other useful sites.

- The ability to post responses, and comment on happenings within Fest.

- Fun stuff to read/watch/ listen to.

- And more!

I hope you like the new site!

SMALL GROUPS:
We have several small groups that run as a part of our youth ministry here at Donny.

On Friday afternoons we have a VCE/Uni small group that meets at 5pm. Our group meets reflectively, discusses lively topics, and searches for what it means to be a Christian in our society.

Sunday afternoon provides a space for two small groups that run.

Firstly there is a girl’s small group aimed at girls in year 8-10. They spend time together exploring the bible, growing in community, and sharing their lives.

The second group on Sunday afternoon is a boys small group which provides a space for guys in grade 5-year 8. These guys are involved social action, exploring faith, and understanding how faith can have an impact upon their everyday lives.

Both of the Sunday small groups meet at 4pm just prior to our Infusion service which begins at 5pm.
